Dallas, TX – August 2020 – Sycamore Tree Capital Partners (“Sycamore Tree”) announced today that it has joined the Asian American Association of Investment Managers (“AAAIM”). Founded in 2006, AAAIM is a national non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in the field of investment management. AAAIM serves as a conduit between Asian American investment professionals and institutional investors.
Earlier this year, AAAIM launched a groundbreaking study focused on the performance and specific trends of AAPI-led investment firms. The study is led by Prof Josh Lerner of Harvard Business School and his team at Bella Research. The study is underway and the final report is expected to be released at the end of 2020. This report will help build a foundation for the investment community and begin a data-driven dialogue regarding AAPIs investment performance.
Mark Okada, Sycamore Tree Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer commented, “We are pleased to be a member of AAAIM and support the organization’s efforts advancing Asian-led investment management firms. We’re excited to be an inaugural sponsor of the AAAIM/Bella research project, which will provide valuable information to institutional investors, consultants and managers in an environment that is increasingly focused on diversity.”
